My basic ramblings. Read on if you like. I'm not generally concerned about being "PC" so if you're a crabby person...save yourself some stress. Don't read.

It's been four days since I've had a chance to sit down at my computer. I haven't had time. Today, I turned it on, and captured some episodes off my DVR while I ran around and cleaned the house.
Tomorrow I have a few things to do.

For a couple days, I thought we might be getting into spring. I know it's on it's way. The days are getting longer.
The temps were in the upper 30's. But no. Back to winter time for a bit longer I fear. This week, not going to be real warm. Which usually isn't a problem but I think my themostat in my car needs to be replaced. It's a hit or miss on heat. Not good.

So. My cat's been getting ill lately. Only on the weekend. When honey's kids show up. I think...and I know it's going to sound crazy, that she's got a "nervous stomach". I've seen this in kids before. They have split parents, and have to spend the weekend with one of them, who may have a S/O in the house...the kid doesn't want to go for whatever reason. Gets really stressed out and makes themselves physically ill.
Pets are like our kids. They have little psyches like the rest of the animal kingdom. So, I figure this may be the cause of my kitty getting sick on the weekends. Of course, honey doesn't agree with the diagnosis.

I got woke up waaaay too early this morning, for no reason.

I finally got to speak with my neighbor about his dog. The barky thing.
Today, his dog came over and our dog defended his territory. The guy seemed offended that I asked him to try harder to keep his dog in his yard.
I was in no mood to be nice today. Since I've been dealing with his dog's behavior ever since he got him.
I told the man that I was not going to scold our dog for defending his yard. And that if he couldn't find a way to train his dog better, I would be calling someone about it.
I explained as calmly as possible that I work nights, and really don't appreciate being woken up by his dogs constant nonsense barking. By nonsense, I mean, there's nothing for him to be barking at. There's no one around and no other animals in sight. So he's just barking to be heard I think.

I mean, sure, there's little one can do about animal behaviors, but he could at least attempt to train the dog to be quiet after one or two barks. Ours knows that more than 3 with no cause, I come out and make him come in the house. He's a good dog. Trained well.

I'm rambling. Always a sign I should be doing something else.
Hope this found you well.

I used to like dogs a lot, until the neighbors who live in the house behind my apartment got a cute, little yippy dog. I think I could handle a dog with a low, deep bark, but the noise from this pooch is driving me insane. Lately, I've been thinking though, why take it out on the dog (I've got a lot of little nice endearments that I use to refer to him, and if I'm walking by, I angrily[and stupidly] shout at it to shut it)?

No, it's the owner>/i> I am pissed at. The owner who can't be bothered to let the poor little dog inside when it's -30 and it's been standing in the snow for the past 45 minutes. The owner who lets it poo on our side of the street without picking it up.

I know I'm not the only one to have done this, but I am starting to do it on a regular basis, now. Everytime I notice little doggy's poo in my yard, I scoop it up, ignore the yips and leave it on the owners doorstep. 5 times and counting...

Bless you! That's inventive. But if it doesn't work, you could always try a nice note. Or, since you said they leave it outside for extended periods of time, call the animal control people. People will tend to curb their bad behaviors if they know someone is watching.

Good luck with your dog problem. Mine seems to be cleared for the moment. I haven't heard the dog since the incident.
But it's only been a day and a half. We'll see if it holds.
