My basic ramblings. Read on if you like. I'm not generally concerned about being "PC" so if you're a crabby person...save yourself some stress. Don't read.

As some of you know, I'm a bartender during the days.
Today, one of my older regulars comes in.
Alex. WW II vet. Pretty fiesty for his age.
And five minutes into a conversation, he asks if I've heard of the Mass ruling on gay marriage.
Of course, he thinks it's wrong.
I smiled softly at him and asked one question.
"Are you gay?"
he sputtered for a moment, then said no.
"What does it matter to you then if they get married or not."
"It's just wrong."
"So was letting black and white kids go to school once upon a time. But obviously, we got over that nonsense."
he had nothing really to say.

I mean no offense to anyone with the black and white reference. Just making my point.
And it's sad that I even have to mention I mean no offense. But in this time, we are surrounded by thin skinned people who can't allow a simple debate or point made with any sort of reference to anything "controversial"
Heaven forbid we actually remember we're all different.

Anna Nicole Smith has lost weight again. Big deal. Exactly what I said.
But apparently the Trim Spa plan worked for her.
Someone tell me what's with the diet craze?
Eat right, stay fit and die anyway!
Life is a "No one gets out alive" situation. What's with this health kick crap?
Personally. I intend to die young. Or I hope to.
The way this world is going. I don't wanna see what's going to happen in 50 years.
Hell, we'll be lucky if we make it to next year!

Rants over. I am going to cruise about the net a while and retire for the night.
Hope this found you in good spirits and didn't damage them!
Have fun, be safe.

hmm... i feel like i just made a new friend... you replied on one of mine, so i surfed on over and read a few of yours... good stuff.

I'm a night person by nature too, and i even used to be a D.J. and a bartender. I was working both jobs while I was living in Italy. I worked at the NCO club on post. (if you know the military, you know what i'm talking about, if not... well... that's ok too)

I've worked the graveyard shift for at least 15 out of the last 18 months, and i don't really like being stuck on dayshift like i am now... fortunately i only have a couple more weeks to go til i get back to mids... yea me. So you see that we have oodles and oodles of things in common.

I even used to live in upstate New York. I was in the Army and stationed at Fort Drum. Near Watertown. Are ya familiar with either?

anyhoo, thanks for readin my stuff... i'll keep an eye out for yours

Yeah. I know where Fort Drum is.
I live in Ithaca NY. Home to Cornell college and educated idiots.

Thanks for reading my stuff.
I enjoy checking out yours.
We'll have to compare notes sometime.

Take care of you
