My basic ramblings. Read on if you like. I'm not generally concerned about being "PC" so if you're a crabby person...save yourself some stress. Don't read.
The hazards of working on holidays...when no one else seems to.

Hello, howdy and greetings on this, the first official few hours of 2004!

Oh...and Happy New Year to those on the west coast just now ringing it in.

So, I had to DJ tonight. No big surprise there. But here's my only little complaint about it. I'm working, someone at the gas station should be as well. I had plenty of gas, but in the course of the evening, went through almost a full pack of smokes. (Drunks misplaced theirs on a regular basis). Ah well. Such is the way of things. I know, the gas station people deserve a night off too. But, some of us are still working. What about all the bartenders? What if they need gas or something. We don't have normal 9 to 5 hours. We're not up at the crack of dawn...well, sometimes, but that just means we never went to sleep.

My boyfriend complains cause I sleep till 11 AM. I tell him I went to bed at 3:30 and can't fall asleep right away. He says...and I'm not kidding here..."Go to bed earlier."  :auses for maximum sarcasm:: Can I slap him now?  Go to bed earlier...pish. You don't tell a 9 to 5'er to go to bed later. Sorry, I have night hours. Deal with it. Oy to the vey!

Anywho...how was your New Years Eve? Hey, there's no shame in staying home, if that's what you did. You might be smarter than the rest of us. You more than likely won't be hung over tomorrow, either. I won't be. I had one beer at 8:30 and a sip of the bubbly at midnight. I was worried about the cops on the way home. And ya know what? I didn't see a single one. They must have been posted on the back roads or something. I took the main route all the way. Not one cop to be seen.

Well, sweeties..I'm off to attempt to see dreamland. Hope your New Years Eve brought you happy memories.

Till next time,

Ali
