My basic ramblings. Read on if you like. I'm not generally concerned about being "PC" so if you're a crabby person...save yourself some stress. Don't read.

It's Monday in the big town. Kidding. Where I live...not that big. I'm experimenting with web page editor. For a couple of reasons.

1> To help it look better. 2> It has a spell check!

I'm not spelling challenged, but even the best of us can typo a word now and again. So.

The bar I work at is out in the country. So, our patrons are mostly retired. Some work at the local salt mine. Yeah, a honest to Pete salt mine. So when they say, "Back to the old salt mine."  they aren't kidding.

Most days it stays pretty busy. Some days not so much. Today, was a not so much day. Since the smoking ban, those days are increasing. We are not amused. Mind you, we pretty much ignore the law out there. But, it's still killing the business. Which of course, bleeds over to my other job. If bars aren't doing well, neither are DJ's. Beer distributors, vending machine companies lose some income and so on and so forth. This looks like it's heading for a rant. I'll head it off at the pass. I don't agree with it. I don't follow it every chance I get.

Anyhow...today was kinda boring. Nothing really to tell you about. I'm almost finished getting the rest of the MP3's off my hard drive. I'm doing some comparison shopping on line for a barebones kit for my next computer. If you happen to know of any places selling barebones kits. Other than Tiger Direct. Please let me know. I'm always on the look out for good deals. <Insert puppy dog pleading look here>

I'll share one of my little secrets. Overstock.com. If you're in the market for new sheets, blankets, pillows and other such stuff. They are definitely worth checking out. I've bought several things from them and they've been quick in delivery, plus, they have a flat rate shipping fee of $2.95. No matter what you order or how heavy it is. It's $2.95. You can not beat that.

I've also bought DVD's from them. I've found that they are always about 10 bucks cheaper than your local discount store. It's worth a look.

I've also had very good luck with dealing with Amazon.com.

Well, I'm off to go finish some of what I started.

Take care of you out there

Ali

my two favorites are:

As far as barebones....these days I dont recommend it unless you have specific compatibility concerns. Normally I suggest Dell as you can find REAL cheap deals on Dell PCs. But being a DJ you might use special hardware, in which case I'd be real anal and buy it all piece-by-piece
